Remix NCBL Week 4 Fixtures & Reviews – Group B
Written by pegasusbigboss on July 2, 2008 – 3:51 am -Here are the fixtures & prediction for Week 4 (6 July 2008) games for Group B. Matches will be played in Court B, Pusat Rekreasi JKKK Balakong, Selangor.
Note – Game time has been changed. This post has been edited to reflect the changes.
8.00 AM – Cons vs. Snipers
Cons will definitely want to notch their first win this season in this game. After a dissapointing first 3 weeks against powerhouses Stallions, Cons and Phantoms, Cons will be hungry for a win, and shouldn’t have any problems against a young and inexperienced Snipers squad.
IMHO, Snipers don’t have a chance against the Cons (sorry Penang!), unless if the boys can control Sunil’s scoring and force PG Yusman to shoulder the whole offensive load on his shoulders. If the Snipers are to win, they will need to do so with continuous stops on defense and rocket fast fastbreaks every other possessions.
My Prediction – Cons will chalk up their first win big, 20-25 points.
9.30 AM – Leykens vs. Phantoms
Phantoms has had a good start to this tournament, beating title contenders Flames, Cons, and routing Stallions. Barring a miraculous absence of Rushdi, Imran and Zunnasri, Phantoms will continue their winning streak in this game.
However, if Leykens can pressure the Phantoms to a handful turnovers, they will stand a chance to win this game. Phantoms have been relying mainly on their outside shooting, so Leykens will want to exploit Phantoms’ big men to create chances.
My Prediction – Phantoms will stroll away with this one by at least 10 points.
11.00 AM – Flames vs. KPTM
Flames win, fullstop. Flames have proven their worth this season, and shouldn’t have any problems blowing up the scoreboards by the second quarter. It will be a good game experience for KPTM, if nothing more.
My Prediction – Flames win by 20+ points, unless if they set themselves on fire literally.
12.30 PM – Stallions vs. Swoosh *GAME OF THE WEEK*
A good game is expected of this matchup featuring the established Non-Chinese teams. ‘Historical’ matchups between these 2 teams have been in Swoosh’s favour, and Swoosh is in form to continue the streak in this matchup.
Swoosh is scoring a whopping average of 91.67 points in this tournament so far, while Stallions have been inconsistent, winning 2 games but lost by 41 points to the Phantoms. Stallions also has the issue of team chemistry this year, but last week’s game has shown that the new J3 recruits are dependable if given the chance. Therefore Paie should play his cards right and hand Swoosh the first loss of the season.
In all, it will be the game to watch, and I won’t be able to give any predictions for this one.
My Prediction – None. Can’t say who’s gonna win coz its a tough one, but I want to hear your prediction on this one.

I’m lost for words when I saw that KPTM was leading by 20pts in the 2nd.
It was a great win for KPTM, I’ll give you guys that.
Like I said, the Flames have set themselves on fire, almost literally, and the result swings KPTM’s way ;P
