23 teams confirm participation in 2009 Non Chinese Basketball League (NCBL)

It’s 31st of March 2009, the final date for the registration of the 2009 Non Chinese Basketball League Malaysia (2009 NCBL Malaysia). With the closing time near, 23 teams have confirmed their participation, a big boost in number of participating teams compared to last year (16 teams participated in 2008). 7 11 new teams will put their skills to test this year.

Here is the list of the teams that will be participating in the 2009 edition of the Non Chinese Basketball League (teams with asterisk * are participating for the first time in the NCBL):

9. SWOOSH 2 (Puchong) *
10. KPTM (Cheras)
11. COCORO (Gombak)
12. ARION (Gombak) *
13. CONS (Petaling Jaya)
14. YING HONG (Bandar Tun Razak) *
15. AMFABIA FROGGERS (Cyberjaya) *
16. PRINZE (Sri Kembangan)
17. REBOUND (Sri Hartamas) *
18. BENCHWARMERS (Seremban) *
19. SCOREKEYS (Seremban)
20. UBSA (Shah Alam)
21. MALAYA TITAN (UM) *
22. ARMY (Sg Besi – formerly ATM)

While there are 23 teams that have confirmed their participation, there are 2 teams that have stated their intention to participate, but have yet to submit their player lists. They are the Lycans and Titan.

2009 NCBL will mark the 4th year of the annual tournament, and it marks a positive grow in the participation of the Non-Chinese in basketball. Credit to MVP Sport Promotion, the tournament’s organizer for a successful growth!
